If ever there was a book that could not only impact, but change my life, it is this one. There must be a right time and this book came at a very right time in my older adult senior life. Can you believe it? Here in my 70's, my life can still change for the good!After reading the Holy Bible several times throughout my life, after pursuing various and many Christian denominations and classified non-Christian religions, after reading untold innumerable books throughout my life, going to many workshops, seminars, conferences over the years, it may all have been less needful for me, if I had come across the info for Spiritual Growth as put forth by David Capps. It is one that anyone whether religious or not, whether seeking or not should be able to read and to reap benefit. But as I stated, "This must have been the right time" ...for me. I am very grateful and indebted to Mr. Capps and the Lord Jesus Christ for this help that has come for inner spiritual growth.
I picked this up when doing a Gospel of Thomas book study and thoroughly enjoyed reading the commentary. Then he adds in a useful spiritual practice which delineates the process we often use in the contemplative evocative approach in spiritual direction. Taking it further into dividing our scripts up between woundings, teachings and imprinting we are invited to take our false self into its more subtle aspects. It reminds me of the work of Gurdjieff and yet requires a personal honesty to make progress. I used this effectively on a week long retreat as a guide taking in the various pieces of the exercises each day until all were present. Recommend this to any spiritual director or guide who wants to continue their own inner work and guide others in supervision.
A gem. This book was flawless. I found it so nutrient dense that I could only read a few pages at a time, and then pause for reflexion, and yet I was eager to keep reading and learning more. Upon finishing the book I felt like I wanted to re-read it at least 2or3 more times to fully absorb the totality of the message. This book is a must read for those on a spiritual journey. I highly recommend it.
No matter your spiritual or religious inclinations, this will light up your mind in ways you never expected. An absolute must read.

This book puts forth the truth with such simplicity and beauty. I have bought several copies and given them to friends of mine and they love it also.
I wanted to give this book 5 stars, but these authors and publishers keep insisting on formatting books without a table of contents! Nothing is more frustrating to me than buying a book and having to scroll through it page by page to get to something. I mean, how hard would it be to put in a simple table of contents? This is the exact reason why I seldom buy kindle books anymore.
